Ginger Chai Tea

Have fun with your child by mixing up this warming chai tea. It has so many health benefits including:

  • feelings of coldness

  • chills

  • sore throat

  • colds, flu with chills and low fever

  • cough and lung congestion with clear to white mucus

  • nausea

  • vomiting

  • gas

  • cramps

  • stomachache

  • inflammation

Combine the herbs with 2 cups of water (or almond milk!) in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let simmer, covered for 10 minutes. Strain and serve!


Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp. cinnamon chips or 1 stick

  • 1 (1/2 in) piece of sliced thin ginger

  • 3 cloves

  • 1 pinch of cardamom

  • 1 star of anise

  • pinch of nutmeg

  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla (can use extract or fresh)

  • 1 tsp. maple syrup

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric

  • 1 tblsp brown sugar
