Dreaming of The Snow Leopard Cub

I had a dream last night about a snow leopard cub. I was walking in the woods, when out of the corner of my eye, I saw rustling leaves. I stopped and looked down, seeing a little paw poke out. I waited and the cub came out of a hole in the ground. My kids and I were scared at first but then started playing with her.

As I woke up, my first instinct was to dive into my books and find the meaning. What was the animal spirits trying to tell me?

The ancient Egyptians understood the importance and strength that came of the leopard and that's why it is known to represent determination and power. The leopard is known to be a nocturnal hunter and will bridge the dreamer towards the feminine energy, mother earth, or the dynamic force of Yin energy. A symbol that tells the dreamer that the leopard in the dream contains more than just a symbol of strength. Maybe this has now become a precognitive dream suggesting I have now activated this once dormant energy within? (remember how the cub first caught my eye?)

Since the leopard depends mainly on its acute senses of hearing and vision for hunting, it connects me to intuition and psychic awareness. I found that leopard symbolism in dreams mean:

  • creativness

  • intuitive, hidden wisdom, & knowing

  • warrior spirit

  • receiving or allowing

  • passionate but alone

  • psychic awareness

When I dove deeper into the spiritual meaning of the leopard, it provided me with clues to help me piece together the meaning. Location, people that were around me, and the leopards behavior where to the keys to unlocking this message.

Leopard Spiritual Traits:

  • to hunt and seek

  • ferocious hunting techniques

  • graceful

  • camouflaged

  • solitary and territorial

  • nocturnal

  • extremely powerful

The wild and untamed nature suggested to me that I'm dealing with unconscious emotions, behaviors, urges and traits that need exploring. Because the cub was friendly, that tells me that I am on the right path, and I must follow and trust my intuition. Naturally the leopard hunts and lives alone navigating through unknown territory--a personal reflection of my life journey trying to survive using my own senses.

Dreaming of a snow leopard is a very powerful omen that brings me closer to my emotions and blocked energy. The leopard becomes a messenger from the unconscious that will try to lead me out of this stuck area in my life. The Yin energy that connects with the feminine needs the sun or masculine energy for balance. Once I integrate this area, the leopard in my dream will have done its job.
